Subsidized Housing
The following list includes subsidized housing for the elderly, and in most cases, adults with diabilities. It is funded by state and/or federal money and is available for persons who meet required income and asset qualifications. These will vary, depending on funding source.
Applications should be made in advance of need, as there is usually a waiting list. Only one application is needed for all units under the local housing authority. Separate applications are required for each privately owned, subsidized building.
If information is needed for housing outside of this area, call 1-800-AGE-INFO (1-800-243-4636) for the local Age Info center.
